Board Certified Hypnotherapist Hope Bradford CHt has practiced transpersonal hypnosis for over twenty years . Even though she had facilitated hundreds of trance regressions she was not prepared for the phenomenon that changed her life: witnessing the trance-channeled teachings of Eastern goddess of compassion, Kuan Yin.
In 2004 Lena Lees channeled twenty-eight conversations with Buddhist goddess of compassion Kuan Yin. Witness to this singular psychic event I eventually compiled the transcriptions of the sessions into the work, The Living Word of Kuan Yin.
In transcribing the Kuan Yin material I recognized certain former Ascended Master's spiritual teachings such as Kuan Yin’s assertion of “the great mix of karma and free will”. This testament, however, is accompanied by an important caveat, that karma does not possess the iron grip upon our lives many would suppose. We are not meant to suffer, nor are we are destined to endure endless entrapping, "made-up” realities. Rather, resolving whatever limiting beliefs one might possess, one is to then focus upon the expansive possibilities, one's greater free will.
Showing us the Crown of Creation, Kuan Yin professes that we are here not only to experience the wonder and beauty of being alive but to also learn from her and from those spiritual masters who preceded her. Desiring that we fully experience our humanity by marveling at and participating in all the sights, sounds and smells this earth has to offer, Kuan Yin stresses that one's earthly incarnation is an opportunity for the divine.
An essential cornerstone of the deity’s canons is that a realistic life allows for the higher self to pluck divinity from one’s everyday life drama. The embodiment of her universal principles, Kuan Yin declares there exists only eternity, knowledge and bliss and that we, as humans, are constantly dealing with seen and unseen forces:
"You are riding the karmic wave and the wind can shift. Everyone must take what they see and deal with that which is unseen."
Throughout the manuscript goddess, Kuan Yin, also spoke of collective (soul) agreements, spiritual contracts comprised of specific mindsets, creating personal as well as global realities. She wants us to understand how limiting collective agreements are responsible for much of humanity’s despair, and that we have greater control over our reality than we might believe.
With the concepts of reincarnation, karma, free will and soul agreements forming her bulwark, the entirety of the Kuan Yin precepts is as unique and authentic as it is compelling. Placing nurturing and motherly love at the foundation of her teachings, Kuan Yin decrees, “Loving kindness is the most potent energy in the universe.”
Insisting that desire is why we're here on earth: to taste, to experience, Kuan Yin cautions not to become attached to the outcome. According to the Goddess, attachment to a certain goal can create a "negative driving force". Distinguishing between the two, Kuan Yin characterizes desire as a natural human drive whereas attachment to a goal encourages artificial expectations and outcomes. Relinquishing ego's need to "grab onto" and "take things to personally", trusting in one's natural impulses without presupposing the outcome, one has an opportunity, here and now, to experience authentic spontaneity and, ultimately, liberation.
Kuan Yin professes that even when all hopes and dreams have been dashed, when everything has been destroyed, humanity will eternally possess the attributes of loving kindness and free will. Those born of this precious earth are capable of transcendence through utilization of these inherent human traits.
Dedicating her book to “all the people who feel left behind, who don’t believe they measure up", Kuan Yin wants her readers to know that spirituality is liberating and that even a moment of meditation is potent. Further, she emphasizes that loving others and praying for their well-being is “the most incredible thing a person can do".
During a particularly intriguing hypnosis session, Kuan Yin addressed humanity's most immediate dilemmas: the threat of eternal war as well as earth climate change.
The countdown having gone smoothly, Lena arrives first at her safe place and then her sacred place. Seeing a fishing village with its giant statue of Kuan Yin, Lena wonders out loud why she is so attracted to and seemingly familiar with this locale: what she believes is in Japan or southeastern China. Just a few days ago she’d found what she believed was a very similar location; a fishing village having a giant statue of Kuan Yin on the mountain overlooking it, while perusing the Internet:
“Sometimes I wonder why the men of the village ever allowed such a giant statue of her to be erected here,” reflects Lena. “She stands through all kinds of weather: rain, sun and even earthquakes. Giant but peaceful!
“Kuan Yin is revealing to me this steadfast symbol of herself. I’m so drawn to this particular statue. I don’t know why. I want to ask Kuan Yin how to forgive those who abuse power. How can I stay detached? Forgive? I’m going to be silent for a moment so that she can respond or lead me to another subject.
“Kuan Yin is changing back to her pastime of riding a dragon on the ocean. In her right hand, she holds a globe. In her left hand she carries a staff. I’m not sure what the globe represents. Now I’m here with her. She is beautiful, maybe around forty-five years old. She is sitting in her traditional position. I notice how the folds of her robe seem to be much more than cloth. They seem to hold a mysterious energy. She is pouring all of us some tea, Hope. Seated upon a beautiful piece of cloth, together, we’re near a waterfall.”
“Just be with me, now,” entices Kuan Yin. “We can sip tea and be together.”
“This is really nice,” acknowledges Lena. “What’s wonderful about this whole experience is that Kuan Yin is completely present. She’s not just here with me. She’s in my heart quadrant. She’s in me. She has an astonishing ability to be present.
“I’m seeing how one’s mind can distract, can come between one another. Here and now (with Kuan Yin), there is no space between our complete focused attentions. The energy is unbroken, continuous. It’s like meditation. Even as she is pouring tea, I feel a thread, a connection—the real possibility that she can be carried within us, me. I’m going to drink the tea in honor of her presence.
Kuan Yin, then, invites me to partake, saying: “You, Hope, can drink it too.”
“She’s going to take me on a journey. I look into the cup of tea and am suddenly going into the universe. I’m trailing on her robes. However, they’re not really robes. There is something important about her clothing, her robes. She can use them to demonstrate, to create like a canvas.”
“I knew Hope would understand that,” Kuan Yin exclaims. “The folds of the material can become any reality, for example, landscapes, other universes. We are flying in the universe,” continues Lena. “However, at the same time we seem to be flying over America. Miles and miles of farmland! This time, instead of taking me to Iraq, Kuan Yin is taking me to Texas.”
“Here we can get a better perspective of where these people are coming from,” comments Kuan Yin.
“Today, we are focusing on oil and what it represents,” explains Lena. “Money and power. Kuan Yin seems to be telling me the energy of the oil families (including the parents and grandparents) also includes anyone (in or out of body) attracted to them. There is an intense need for money. I can feel it. It is almost as if they’re suffocating and oil helps them to breathe. There is the family and there is also its ancestral legacy to oil.”
“They need the oil because it is like oxygen for them,” relates Kuan Yin. “There are certain beings that need certain elements. You know how a physician prescribes certain vitamins or minerals for a patient? The Vedas often recommend certain stones, gems or crystals be carried for one’s protection or general well being. For some reason, certain energies, whether metaphorical or not, require the element of oil to breathe. And, of course, breath is life. Certain oil families need these elements. Over time oil dynasties have been created by misguided forces; energies hovering over the earth. It’s not just these certain oil families who carry this energy. Everyone creates realities based on their own personal beliefs. These beliefs are so powerful as to be responsible for creating [expansive or entrapping] realities over and over. There is now so much global investment in these beliefs that oil is life. The energy has been built up to such an extent as to attract disembodied energies. Someone who is actually quite weak can appear strong when “backed” by these energies. Indeed, behind these families is a powerful mass of souls who believe strongly that oil is life. They also have the mindset that it is the only thing keeping them in existence. In other words, if the belief goes, so do they. So, this inaccurate belief system, this “untruth” has magnified itself. And as in all inaccurate belief systems, nature will oppose it because it is too dense,” decrees Kuan Yin. “Conversely, Nirvana is very light, very ethereal. Untruth (and even truth) must be broken down into no thought. This untruth will eventually come up against a great opposition.”
“Kuan Yin is showing me the energy the oil dynasty represents,” relates Lena, still in trance. “It is very hard in texture. Kuan Yin is lifting it up like a mountain. It’s like a giant disk of great density. She’s balancing it on her staff, while she continues to ride upon the dragon across the ocean. Nevertheless, she still maintains a sense of humor. I ask her how will she dissolve this hard mass representing the belief systems. She tells me the energy of “good” will reach these families like a prayer. Kuan Yin is also telling me the disk cannot just be destroyed. If that strategy is ever attempted, many will perish.
“I’m confused,” confesses Lena. “Certainly, I don’t want anyone to die. What’s to be done with it, this strange and dense energy?”
“What do you think we can do with it, Lena?” Kuan Yin casts this crucial question back to Lena.
Just then, my pen ran dry. Why was this happening at such a critical time? Was it destiny? Not having time to contemplate, I knew more pens were in the cabinet at the other end of the living room. Leaping up, I say somewhat awkwardly, “Wait just a moment, Lena. I’m out of ink. I just need to go and get another pen.”
“I just got it,” exclaimed Lena. “Just when you jumped up to get another pen, Hope, I finally got what Kuan Yin is trying to tell me. Kuan Yin says everything being spoken and written about the Iraq war and American adventurism is shedding light on this limiting belief system, slowly dissolving the disk. No one will be killed. Each of us will help to break it down slowly. And people will evolve to understand it,” concludes Lena, with a sigh of relief.
“Many people are unaware they buy into this belief system,” notes Kuan Yin. “Nevertheless, they go on believing the only way they’ll survive is to have money. The oil families represent one’s relationship with prosperity and survival. Humanity has created itself around the “survival of the fittest” belief and the fearful belief that there are not enough resources. Unfortunately, many individuals really believe there are not enough resources for everyone. Some out of body souls are not aware they don’t really need the oil to breathe, that they are fabricating situations they believe they need to “survive”. Everyone has made an agreement, then, that there isn’t enough. Wars and every other dilemma focusing on hate, fear and murder is based on “not enough” and the illusion of survival.”
“I’m feeling as though I’m underwater and unable to breathe,” relays Lena.
“It took a long time for your planet to evolve into this crisis, continues Kuan Yin. "Everyone is witnessing the greed and bad behavior emanating from certain members of the oil families. It is a very potent time. People are learning. And what people learn also sets them (the oil dynasties) free. They will no longer be trapped in their own belief system. People will begin to get sparks of light. There will increasingly be more and more sparks which will erode the darkness of confusion,” Kuan Yin prophesied. “As mentioned earlier, certain prominent oil family members are very weak energies. Because of this weakness more powerful energies can therefore go through them; using earth bodies for their own purposes.
“Isn’t it curious Lena? Think about what drives you in your life and how many of those beliefs are not serving you well. I’m very grateful for our connection, for this opportunity to meet with you,” Kuan Yin continues.
“Kuan Yin is touching the arm—no the shoulder of this belief system. She is putting her hand on the shoulder with utmost compassion,” describes Lena.
“I’m sorry for your anguish,” consoles Kuan Yin.
“I understand now,” Lena exclaims softly. “Many of these energies are not in human form. Kuan Yin is putting her hand on the thoughts that make up the dense disk. Now I truly see what she is doing. It’s alchemy.”
“Yes. There’s a balance that makes something holistic and in truth.” responds Kuan Yin. “What I am placing my hand upon is a dense conglomeration of stuck energy made up of certain ideas. Naturally, not all ideas are included in this energy. It needs certain elements, things sprinkled into it gradually.
“Having compassion for the “untruth”, that is what’s missing. I’m sending compassion into this rock. One needs to slowly add elements of insight to reach truth. It’s a good time to ask ourselves to look at the lies we are telling ourselves. It’s a time to examine our thoughts and the thoughts of the people of the world. Let us all reflect upon the “great mix” of free will and karma. Ponder what I have said. Karma is intricate, detailed. One cannot dwell on only one particle of this great collective energy. Your life is but one frame of an entire reel of film,” instructs Kuan Yin.
“Everyone has their part. Some don’t perform any of their part as they have incomplete or incorrect belief systems. Sometimes it seems as if this world is completely chaotic and sometimes it really is. However, there is a corrective force, an actual physical force.”
“Kuan Yin is showing me this force,” says Lena, trying to describe what she is seeing. “It’s a pendulum. No. It’s more like a spiral. It seems very complicated. I want to understand, to know more about this structure…”
“You don’t need to necessarily understand everything about the forces--the dynamics of the universe. However, you need to have faith that the process is guided and correct, that it is ultimately good,” counsels Kuan Yin. “And that there exists a kind of cosmic steering of evolution, a reason for all of this. It’s already finished. The past, present and future have already occurred. Events that seem so cruel and unforgivable...Have faith and trust that even these happenings are ultimately an expression of goodness. Some say things are planned; everything is already worked out. And in a very real sense, it is so. All the pain and suffering! It’s like a dream. It doesn’t go on forever. The suffering does end.”
“I want to ask Kuan Yin something,” Lena begins to say.
“Lena, you need to develop your faith and your trust,” interrupts Kuan Yin, emphatically. “Please try to work on that. Try to remember the universe is on the right course. You no longer have to live life through a veil of fear. You can go beyond it to a place of peace and trust. Now it is time to end the session, for today. It’s difficult to let you go. These times together are a way for me to give and communicate my loving compassion. I love it when people realize and validate the gifts I send. I’ll always be there to comfort and help those in need. I delight in helping others.”
